VS Pro X5 Re-Install Procedure....

Very recently I ran some heavy-duty repair diagnostics on my error-riddled Win 7 OS system...

When I tried to execute my VS Pro X5 after that, it wouldn't execute, and gave me this error message:

'Error 38: VS Pro X5 files have been damaged or modified. Please install your original source file(s).'

I gather from this I need to re-install my VS Pro X5--what's the best procedure for that?

Go to Control Panel/Program & Features
Locate and uninstall Corel Video Studio X5

Do you have a registry cleaner installed on your system, if not CCleaner is a very good free cleaning program, Run the registry cleaner and then select Fix Selected Issues.

Reboot your computer, then reinstall VSX5 and you should be all set to go

That is, of course, assuming you still have the original installation disc or file...

If the discs are not available, or the program is not backed up, now may be a good time to purchase VSX7, if you still have the VSX5 key, you can upgrade and save some money.

I do have the original disks for VS Pro X5--do I need to uninstall the buggered copy of it before I
re-install it?
