X7 (17.1.0.22) "inactiv" with 1080p50 50mbit

Post by coupernst »

Hi together,

I record with my cam Panasonic HC V757 in the mp4 1080p50 50mbit mode (best available Quality). The Cam splits the raw files evere 11 minutes (11:00:48). When I put them together in the project (without any effect, I just want to have a continous playback), VS X7 Ultimate hangs up while rendering the movie, taskmanager shows "inaktiv". Through the percentage you can see it always happens at the split -> when it changes to the new source file.
As soon as I cut from the first Scene at least the last 00:10 secs (10 frames) and from the second scene the first 10 frames, I dont have any problems any more. VS cant handle the split in these files.

Projectsettings are similar the the raw record of the Cam, but custom made (40mbit, 2 pass rendering, rest is the same like raw).

Has anyone a solution or a simlar problem?!

Thanks and regards.

Here are a couple of ideas. Share to a project with the same properties, if possible; this will avoid transcoding which is a problem for some formats. Use the Panasonic supplied software to join the pieces into one video file before inserting in the timeline.

Expanding on Al's first suggestion, in Preferences > General, have you ticked the box beside "Show message when inserting first video clip"? If so, you should get a message when you insert the first clip asking if you want the Project Properties to match those of the clip. If you say yes, then later you can go to Share and the very first option right at the top is "Same As Project Properties" with the option of "Same As First Clip". This will then produce a new clip with the same properties as the original.
