Another good desktop publishing program is Serif's PagePlus. They have a free version that has a few minor tools disabled.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

OK have now had the experience of text slow down and it occurred for me about the 18 th line. Applying the text and then starting a new line cleared up the delay til the next 18 + lines , so that is a work around.
As has already been mentioned a proper text processor would be the go, and that way you could also apply a spell check and then copy and paste segments into PSP text.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Agreed, a desktop publisher would be good for that specific task. I create labels for our winery. The front label is mostly graphics with pictures from the vineyard. The back label is all text. It's just easier for me to do the work in one package. Now that I know to break them up, that's what I plan to do. Two sections of the label never change - the name/address section and the government warning section. So I can create a template label with those static sections and then add one more layer with the text that is dynamic. I'll check into the freebie software to create the text to insert into PSP. Problem solved thanks to the people within the forum. Thanks everyone.
