I have a simple menu - just 1 button. When activated, it is supposed to play a playlist of about 10 videos then loop.
When I preview the project in DVD Workshop 2 (i.e. using the "Finish" tab) it works just as it should.
When I burn the project straight to a disc and view it on a set-top player or write an image file and view it on DVD playback software, only the first title in the playlist plays. It loops successfully, but all the titles after the first are ignored.
Any thoughts?
Playlist not working on disc
works fine with me....
have you considered the famous "reinstall" procedure?
make sure you have the latest patch. The problem probably happened during the burning stage. It may also be your unit's compatibility with the burned disc or brand. they just release a new patch. It updates your burning engine to the latest.

Playlist issues
From what I can tell, looking at the "Express" version on Ulead's website the playlists seem to work in the same way as the "Full" version.
You don't say what your "videos" are, AVIs, MPEGs, DVD compliant MPEGs etc. What encoder are you using?
Perhaps you could try creating 10 small AVI files (only a few seconds each) create the same type of playlist, let DVD Workshop encode them and test to see if that works.
Not sure, the playlists function is the main reason I bought this software as it's damn simple to use, maybe a screen grab of your playlist might help.

the britisher,
Many thanks for taking the time to look at this issue. After reading some additional posts last night, trying a few different options, and going through a few more DVDs I finally got my loop to work. Oddly enough, the thing that made it work was REMOVING the loop on the playlist! Here's how I was setting things up before it worked:
1. Import video clips from DVD
2. Make a blank menu page
3. Set menu timeout to 1 second
4. Create invisible menu button
5. Place imported video clips into playlist
6. Insert loop points
7. Test and Burn
8. Watch the DVD on a player loop the 1st clip over and over and never go into the other clips!
Ok, so I saw the following on another post:
http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... t=playlist
where Devil said to add a black image as the "play first" clip, so instead of adding a black image I added our company logo (this is not included in the loop and that's OK) and then I went in and removed the looping from the playlist.
I think it works because there is only one button and it's invisible. The menu times out after 1 second and its default action is to do what that button is programmed to do, which is play the playlist.
This was pretty confusing but at least it works...
Thanks again for offering to help!
