Paste at startup

Paint Shop Pro all versions

Perhaps I am missing something. It is difficult to understand why I find nothing when doing a search, which makes me think that I really am missing something.

More often than not, I have something on the clipboard that I want to work on, when I start Paint Shop Pro.

Why is "Paste as new image" not available directly when starting Paint Shop Pro, as opposed to having to explicitly (or implicitly, by switching to Edit) "Open" another image or create a "New" image (or, why not "New" from clipboard)?

Am I missing something?

I just tested this in both PSP X6 and X7 and it works for me. I closed both versions of PSP, found an image via Google, copied the image to my clipboard, opened both versions of PSP and pasted as new image into each one of them. I tried the various ways of pasting as new image (right-click context menu; keyboard shortcut; edit menu).

Note: I have PSP set to open automatically to the Edit Tab as I don't use Manage or Adjust.

In my X4 works when the 'copy' is given in Google and Faststone, not when copy is done in Windows Photo Viewer.
Windows Photo Viewer copy does paste into MS Word document.

Tested with Preferences emptying clipboard on exit, and not emptying.

Ahhhhhhh that is the key!!!! Thank you for that. I still don't understand why it wouldn't be available at whichever point you start but that is great, thanks!
