Cant see the monkeys

Post by cleme1q »

I have a video clip from Costa Rica taken on a gopro at 1280x960 resolution. The clip of a group of monkeys jumping around on several trees in the rain forest, but for some reason the monkeys are invisible. You can see the branches moving but can't see the monkeys. The actual clip can be found at https://www.dropbox.com/s/4xffv1iyjmzik ... 0.MP4?dl=0 in case anyone wants to take a look. Please let me know if there are any ideas on how to make the monkeys visible.

Thanks

Hi

Yes I can see monkeys, they move from left to right, across a brown dead leaf above the lady in pink, look out for the white bottom, they seem to pause for the photo shoot at the top of that leaf, they are only small……………..

Costa Rica’s nice place to see wildlife, we visited earlier this year, excellent time…

Try Pan and Zoom, not too much as zooming in will reduce the quality which indecently looks good on my pc.

Well, in fact I *can* see the monkeys -- though they are small, with mostly black fur (with white patches) which makes them difficult to see against the dark forest background. But I am not sure there is much you can do apart, perhaps, from applying a filter to enhance the contrast of the forest background. And perhaps adding a tracking highlighted circle around them. For the latter, see http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 7&p=287966&

I looked at it again and I can see them when playing in full screen mode but when looking at it in the X7 preview screen, it was very difficult to make them out. Anyway, I will work on the contrast and see if that helps.

Thanks

Perhaps a lesson learned for future such expeditions - get in a bit closer when filming - I would have zoomed in quite a bit there to get decent size images of the monkeys.
