Crop Rectangle Resets Zoom Level in X7

Post by ovalseven »

I like to crop my images at 3x zoom to be sure it's accurate. In X7, clicking the crop tool causes my image to instantly zoom back out to fit the window. How can I stop this from happening? It makes cropping very difficult.

I didn't have this problem in X5. Is this a bug or a new "feature"?

Interesting. I just tested X5, X6 & X7.

I see the same results as you with X5 and X7 so it must be a new "feature".

X6 only seems to have half of the new feature. I will zoom in 3 times and select the crop tool and the image does not revert to normal; however, I am not able to position the crop outline as I see fit as it maintains it's last used position which is outside the bounds of the viewing window.

Bottom line = X5 worked properly; X6 had half a bug; and X7 has a full bug.

Is this happening with File/preferences/general program preferences/transparency and shading 'automatically display crop rectangle' turned on (checked)?

That setting appears to be broken in X6 & X7 (at least for me).

On: Image zooms to fit screen as soon as I click the crop tool.

Off: Image zooms to fit screen as soon I create a crop rectangle or click "Snap crop rectangle..." in Tool Options.

The only workaround seems to be zooming with the "+" key after clicking the crop tool.

Has this issue been fixed in any of the service packs? Or is this just a new "feature"?
