positioning subttles

Post by cord »

hi, we have to add subtitles to some 200+ short films. the default position for the titles doesn't work for us because we have two languages that we need to display, most mp4s have already english titles rendered into the mp4 and we would like to place the chinese titles above the english. it seems the default position is below the existing STs. we can of course manually move the ST window to the desired position but with that many films it would take too long. is there a way to change the default, so that for each film the STs will be placed automatically where we want them?

Hi

There is no way to change the default position, not that I know of….

But there is an option to Copy Attributes and Paste Attributes. This will reposition selected clips.

I assume you are using two Title timelines one for English and one for Chinese.

1 / Set the position of the first title.
2 / Right click that clip in the timeline – choose Copy Attributes
3 / Shift Click the last Title to select all adjacent titles.
4 / Right Click to Paste attributes.

All clips should display as first clip position.
