I did a similar thing... but you've bothered to package it up and share it, kudos to you for that. For those who aren't programmers, a simple thing can be as good as impossible. (I used VS8 for capture, but same idea.)
But sharing some of my thoughts might be useful for your tool... or not
What about using the windows Scheduler, in control panel?
In other words, just package up a program that does a "Run" for the program... waits a bit, and sends "start capture" keystroke. And let the Scheduler dictate when it runs. Then you get the flexibility of the scheduler free, e.g. every Mon and Thurs at 9 pm or whatever.
The other end of it is how to stop... I added a command line arg for "how long" the capture is to last. Then it rudely sends an Alt-F4 to shut down the capture program. I did check that it was the right program being shut down, but I that doesn't make it shrinkwrapable, just a little less dangerous for me
.
Food for thought, take or leave it... Maybe the scheduler is considered too arcane... though I find it friendly enough, and very flexible.

Luckily my needs are simple ... e.g. I only record off one channel! So I use VS8 and these simple VB scripts to automate the capture along with windows scheduler.
I read something about this program, and thought I'd look at it if my needs got any more complicated... there're free ware and $$ versions, not sure if the freeware cuts it or not... but it apparently includes scheduling:

FYI to people interested... I hit on a freeware thing that looks good:

GSR Since you didn't delete this... I guess you realize this is a helper product to "work alongside Ulead".
But please look at it in case you are not clear!
It'd be great if Ulead did offer software to schedule captures from TV cards, as far as I know they don't, good chance to correct me if I'm wrong

yes this is noted. they have Video@Home software which offers a scheduled capturing. unfortunately this software is only bundled with some brands of TV tuners. its an old software i think...
