Re: Aligning 2 layers
Do you want them to continue to be two separate layers?
You can use Photo Blend (found under the File menu) it lets you align and combine multiple photos. You can paint out the areas on each photo that you don't want to keep. But the end result is a flat image.
PSP does not have auto-alignment functions built into the editor itself. You can set the layer opacity and nudge and rotate the individual layers to align them but it won't guarantee accuracy.

Using 100% Opacity and setting the blend mode of the upper layer to "Difference" will give you an excellent visual as you nudge the layer....LeviFiction wrote:PSP does not have auto-alignment functions built into the editor itself. Re: Aligning 2 layers
I find I have to export the file as a PSD, open it in Photoshop Elements, use it's align layers tool, then save back to PSD and open that in PSP. If you have a version of Elements doesn't have a layer alignment tool you can buy ElementsXXL. I paid $50 for it just to align layers. It's too bad Corel can't seem to figure that out.

Re: Aligning 2 layers
This is a big irritation since they HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO THIS already! When you do an HDR, it lines up your pictures by feature or edge detection. The algorithm exists and is implemented. Ditto when using the PhotoMerge.
But amazingly, you can't get to this functionality in the actual editor!
Hence, you have to do it manually, or use another software package.
