ProX3 updates

Post by riffmax »

I've been using X3 for several years and while I love the program itself, the bugs and crashes are irritating. I've always just lived with it, but I've finally gotten tired of it. It seems, though, there is no place to get patches and updates for X3. When I click on the link for older products via FTP, I get a window that says the page doesn't exist.

Is there ANYWHERE to still be able to download those patches?

Corel should provide those patches still, but I don't see them on their site either. I still have 5 patches for X3. If you'd like you can download them from my dropbox. Use at your own risk and you won't insult me if you decline.

Patch 1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7lqsck7lp7ted ... 1.exe?dl=0
Patch 2 https://www.dropbox.com/s/dpoyhwl3y8ohr ... 2.exe?dl=0
Patch 3 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ctzkjpv6rmocf ... 3.exe?dl=0
Patch 4 https://www.dropbox.com/s/hqd1zcv7qgsyc ... 4.exe?dl=0
Patch 5 https://www.dropbox.com/s/mbbk7cjvfd8so ... 5.exe?dl=0

I had serious issues once when I let the program download the patches automatically. I assume that it downloaded the latest patch and skipped some earlier ones, causing issues. This is only an assumption and I have no evidence to back that up, but it wouldn't hurt to install the patches in order one at a time. If you've already installed updates the only way that I know of to undo that is to reinstall the program, which was an incredibly long process on my computer at the time. There's also a cleanup tool. Read http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=38064 but read the entire thread because the instructions change multiple times.

I think PSPX3 was so unstable that even Corel wants to forget it ever happened.
