Hi all
My question is about the music you get when you buy Video Studio?
I understood right or wrong that this was free to use and distribute as you wish? IE copyright free no fee to be paid if you use it on say You Tube and the like.
Am I correct in thinking this or is it copyright protected and only supplied for your own use or as a sample?
I hope someone can help and advise me?
Thanks All

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: Music included with VS
All music supplied with VS is from SmartSound and as such is free to use for whatever purpose you want, there are no copyright issues, although it must be said, YouTube does on the odd occasion throw a wobbly and you then have to contact them and advise that the tracks used are SmartSound.

Re: Music included with VS
Thanks for the reply Robert
But what about all the standard music clips IE M01, M02, M03 etc.
These are not used within the SmartSound third party add-on?
From what I can make out reading the EULA the last paragraph is giving the rights to use all included clips images etc.
Or am I not reading it correctly?
Thanks

Yes you are reading the EULA correctly - you can use ANY clips images or music in your videos - the only restriction being that you do not sell or otherwise make money from the videos using them
As Robert has said occasionally You-tube throw a wobbly about music - but you just refer them to the VideoStudio EULA

Thanks Brian
But I cannot see any reference to not making any money from them?
" as a user of Our Software You are free to use, modify and publish the Images or Clips, Font Output or Sample Content as follows: You may (i) incorporate any Images or Clips, Font Output , or Sample Content into Your own original work and publish, display and distribute Your work in any media, provided You include a copyright notice in Your work reflecting on the copyright ownership of both You and Corel as follows: “Copyright (c) 20___ [Your name], Corel Corporation and its licensors. This is what I need to find out, if you are correct, as a user of VS you cannot upload to You Tube and monetise your videos at all?
Thanks

Re: Music included with VS
looks like they have removed the financial gain restriction now then - so it looks like you don't have a problem
