Licensing questions

Post by blixa »

Hi

I'm thinking on buying AfterShop Pro. I work with Linux and Mac, so I'd like to know if I have to purchase one license for each machine (I guess so).
Another question. Let's say I buy one license and I activate it on my linux machine. Then I change my mind and want it on my Mac. Is there an easy way to do that?

Thanks.

You can use the license for more than one system (2 or 3, I don't remember, that changed when Corel took over).
There is no activation and the key is not system specific.

Thank you, afx, great news.

Could somebody at Corel confirm how many computers can I use with one purchase?

Thanks again.

You could be waiting for a very very long time if you are expecting that confirmation on these forums.

These things are covered in the EULA (End User License Agreement).
This agreement is installed on your disk in \Corel\Corel AfterShot Pro 2\supportfiles\EULAs
The first sentence reads
Unless you have a written agreement with Corel providing for additional Use, the below agreement gives you permission to install and Use one (1) copy of this Product on one (1) computer or electronic device at any given time as set out in more detail below.
Enjoy!

Herman.

Ooops. Well, I understand I can use it in my linux device and then move the activation to the mac if necessary. But not without the usual mails asking for it to Corel and so on.

Thanks (by the way, the wait wasn't so long ).

at any given time
It means what it says. If you try to run AS at the same time on both systems, you may run into problems. I haven't tried it. But you can have it installed on two machines at the same time and legal on both. Without any special licensing actions. I know. It's set up like that for me.

In fact, the "at any given time" restriction could explain why I get asked to register more often than I expected. But it's only one button to click.

I would say that, attempted that you physically can't work your photos on two computers at the same time, nothing prevents you from installing ASP on both and use each one as you need.

Unless there was a major change from ASP1 you can install on 2 machines that you own. I used ASP1 on both my desktop and laptop for travel with no issue. then again I never used both at the same time obviously.
