According to the new marketing materials about PSP X7, the new version offers "Enhanced Plugin support – Enjoy support for 64-bit versions of third-party plugins and Adobe Photoshop plugins". I just installed the trial version and I'm still getting the dreaded "Plugin caused an access violation" message when I install the latest version of the Noiseware plug-in. I tried installing under the following location for 64 and 32 bit, each time using the correct 8BF file:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X7 (64-bit)\PlugIns\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X7\PlugIns
Same problem with both.
I'm using Windows 8.1 Ent. Any idea how to resolve this problem?

Re: Noiseware 64 bit Plugin caused an access violation PSP X
I remained hopeful for a while thinking some day in a future release of PSP I would be able to run 64-bit Nik filters — then I received this heartbreaking response from them. Some kind soul wrote a PSP script that makes a couple of the 64-bit filters to work, namely Color Efex Pro and Viveza 2, but the script doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Even though PSP X6 is my main photo editor, I have a copy of CS6 just for the purpose of using the entire Nik suite.

The only solution that I managed to find is to use an old version of the plug-in. Better than nothing I guess...

I have posted some info about workarounds for installing legacy and newer plugs into X7 when the plugin installer won't recognize X7 at this topic:
