Pasting Images with NO background into other applications

I am trying to create literature in MS Publisher. In PaintShop, I create images with a transparent back ground, but when I insert or paste it into my document in Publisher, the image has a big white square background. How can I get rid of this?

I have tried everything I can think of. Creating a vector image & raster image with "Transparent" checked off. And every kind of copy - paste combination there is.

What am I missing?

Save the image as a transparent PNG file and you can import that into Publisher.

Does it work normally with other images not saved by PSP?

Because this may or may not be a Publisher issue. What version of Publisher are you using?

That worked pretty good. Now I can get going on my postcard mailer and get back to my product catalog.
