Hi,
I am a new VideoStudio user. I tried to burn a series of movies onto a disc using the DVD format. When I went to play the second movie the sound cut out during that movie and the third (last) movie on the disc. The first movie was made on Windows Movie Maker in regular format and the other two movies were made on Windows Movie Maker in high definition. I even tried burning the disc in the high def format but it wouldn't play on my DVD player.
What can I do to fix this? The movies play fine on youtube and other sharing sites. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
Megan

Re: Trouble Burning Discs
You haven't told us what sort of a DVD you are trying to make - I am assuming a standard DVD - not HD or Blu-ray
Youtube and other similar sites will play almost anything - or else people wouldn't use them, but unfortunately standard DVD's to play in a standard DVD player now use a very old specification which means that only mpeg-2 files will play.
Normally when you put any files into the "Create disc" module of VideoStudio the first thing that happens is the conversion to mpeg and then comes the burn to disc, depending on exactly what you started with then the conversion inside the burning module may not be taking place correctly.
The way to get round that problem is to first convert all your videos to the same format - that is mpeg-2 (using VideoStudio)
So one by one put your existing video in the timeline and go to "Share" and choose to make a mpeg-2 video - then play that video in VideoStudio to check it is working correctly.
Now when you go into the create disc module if there are any videos at all in there delete them all and then import your three brand new videos and burn them to disc.

Re: Trouble Burning Discs
Thanks Brian!
I'm actually thinking about redoing the videos I made in Windows Movie Maker in VideoStudio. They are slideshows of family photos set to music. I've gotten good reviews from friends of the videos made in Movie Maker but I would love to try to replicate them with better results with the better software.
I hope my questions don't seem too stupid. I'm a full time college student and full time military wife. I've been dabbling in video editing for a while but just finally got around to buying decent software.
Thanks again!
