Video Studio Pro x7 - Chroma key and plug ins

Hi .. Have some issues with Pro x7 64 bit (experienced user since x4)
1. The chroma masks don't work. Chroma key works but shape masks fail to apply to object.
2. A lot of the plugins don't work on the 64 bit system. What do we do now?

3. How do you upgrade from Pro x7 to Ultimate. When I brought it, Corel were slow on telling you there was an 'Ultimate' version.

1. not sure what you are saying here - do you mean that with a video/photo in the top track putting a "frame" (shape mask ??) in the overlay track does not mask of all except what is seen through the frame - or what does "fail to apply" actually mean - please see my image below - what do you see when you do that ?.

2. All previous plug-ins were 32 bit - 32 bit plug ins will not work in a 64 bit programme.

3. There is no upgrade from the Pro to the Pro Ultimate version - the extra free plug-ins only come with the ultimate version - Corel advertise both the Pro and the Pro Ultimate widely and together - it is quite clear that there is and has been an Ultimate version for a long time.. You can purchase the additional items direct from Pro-Dad , Mercali or Boris.

1. There was no ultimate version when I brought it. (I must have almost been the first in the world!) Corel were slowing telling you about this. I got the only version it said was available .. It came available as the popup when I closed x6 one day. It was the only option to buy. It was the next day, I believe that the ultimate version suddenly appeared for sale.. So now I have to buy it all over again..

2. When you go the 'chromakey' section, activate it, you can then chose to either 'chromakey' the image or 'add mask' and there are several masks available. You used to be able to select the mask and the change would appear instantly. Now it does nothing.

I am not sure what I am looking at in your image John - if I go to Overlay >> Mask frame I see a panel containing the masks which I simply click on to get the effect.

Have you shrunk and moved the preview screen over the top of the options panel ??

Can you press F7 to revert your screen to the default setting and see what happens - and show us what your screen looks like then when you select mask frame.

Hi Mate..

yes, what you have shown is correct. The oval mask is selected in yours but this has no impact when I select any of them.. selecting a mask should change the image it applies to.. nothing.. doesn't change the picture, just like the link is dead. (Worked fine in X6)

May be time to leave Corel. I've been with them since they brought out that other program that they developed Pro x4 from and had every version since..

For what its worth my program VS X7 works like Brian describes.
I have 38 Mask options, selecting any mask instantly updates the preview screen.

If I am understanding the problem here: I reported this same exact issue some weeks ago. This appears to only happen in the 64 bit version. Try the 32 bit version.

Now, for some reason I cannot explain... all of a sudden this issue disappeared upon a re-install in the 64 bit version. I do not know why... it just did. It MIGHT have had something to do with installing and re-installing several times... or it may have been something else.
