Hey guys,
This is the effect I'm looking to create:
I have a graphic that I'd like to start out looking very small (barely bigger than a pinprick) and have it come racing towards the "camera" until it's full-sized. This would happen very quickly, in less than 2 seconds.
The 'cropping' effect doesn't allow you to start with a graphic smaller than it's original size.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Thanks.
Need help creating a certain effect

Re: Need help creating a certain effect
I would use keyframes via "customise motion"
so load your graphic into VS and shorten its length to 2 seconds or whatever you want
right click on it and select "customise motion"
this opens a window where you can use keyframes to manipulate the size of the graphic.
basically drag the slider along to midway on the timeline, at this point you want the image to be half of the final full size, so resize it using the handles on the graphic
then move the slider all the way to finish point and resize the graphic to your finished full size
if the start point size of the graphic is not small enough you can resize that as well
this should give you 3 keyframes (start, middle and finish) with the graphic increasing in size over time.
you can also reverse the keyframes (there's a button to select this) to make the graphic shrink if you wanted to reverse the process
cheers

Re: Need help creating a certain effect
I'll give it a shot, thanks.
Update: Yeah, that did it. Embarrassingly simple. Thanks again, joe.
