Hi,
I'm using PSP X6 and trying to separate and move individual letters in a word and I am using the following approach:-
White background
Type the letters using Vector text.
Select the word with the pick tool.
Choose Objects/Convert text to curves/As character shapes.
But at this point nothing seems to happen! From the various Googling that I have done, this should place each letter in a separate layer so that they can be manipulated individually.
Am I misunderstanding the use of this function or doing something wrongly?
Thanks in advance.
Geoff.

Re: Using convert text to curves
Not on individual layers, but as individual objects inside the current vector layer.
So if you open the vector layer you'll find a vector group, and if you open the vector group you'll see an individual object for each letter.

Re: Using convert text to curves
Thanks Levifiction,
This makes sense but doesn't happen. If I click on the ungroup button, I still have only the background vector and 'vector1' which contains the whole word.
If I click on "layers" on the toolbar at the top, "Ungroup layers" is dimmed out.
I'm missing something somewhere quite basic!!
Geoff.

I solved my problem and I knew it had to be something stupid !!!!
I wasn't using a vector font !! Doh........
