I am new user X7 and recently connected an Epson scanner. Downloaded and installed the Epson 64bit scanner driver. Under "Import", "from scanner or camera" my scanner is detected. However, under "Import", Twain Acquire" I get error message "scanner not found," I then try "source" with same result. Device manager shows the scanner; "Import" shows my scanner, but the TWAIN path does not. I think Corel has a problem.

Yes, you are correct. PSPX7 is not seeing the x64 driver.

I checked this with my Epson V500 scanner. Both PhotoLine and Paint.NET read the driver and open the the scanner interface. The x64 version of PSPX7 does not find the driver. A bug still not fixed.

64-bit PhotoLine?

Because, again, many scanners don't have 64-bit TWAIN drivers only 64-bit compatible drivers which means only 32-bit software can read them but they're designed to work on a 64-bit OS. The drivers mentioned could very well be 64-bit but it's rare.

The Hex field exists inside the color picker in PSP.

I won't quibble over whether or not the driver is x64 or x32. In the case of my scanner, the driver was advertised for x64 systems. The real point of my post was that the x64 version of PhotoLine, an innovative photo editor+ from a small German company, and Paint.NET, a free photo editor developed by volunteers (only x64), will both recognize the driver and run the scanner interface.

The x64 version of Corel PaintShop Pro X7 version does not.

That's what I wanted to know. Not to quibble over drivers, just that you had not indicated if PhotoLine was 64-bit or not. I could just make the assumption but, not to be insulting, I've seen people claim "my software can see it" when their software was 32-bit and so was the scanner driver.

I also haven't upgraded Paint.net in some time. It's still at version 2.4 on my system so I was unaware of the 64-bit mode that it uses on 64-bit systems.

PSPX7 fails to render TIF from onOne Perfect Photo Suite 8.5.

I have been able to reproduce the rendering problem reported earlier. The image began as a raw file and was converted to a TIF. It was then opened in Perfect Photo Suite 8.5 with the option of save as a single-layer TIF file.

Here is that image reopened in Perfect Photo Suite 8.5:

Here is that TIF image opened in PSPX7 x64:

I also found the image failed to render correctly in ACDSee Pro 7. However, it opened correctly in PhotoLine 18, Paint.NET 4 and Photo Ninja 1.2.3b. All of these applications are x64.

I've always hated that too. There's no reason for the title bar to be larger than any of my tool bars. In fact, there's no reason to have the title bar at all. It's wasted space.

I've added a button for Full Screen Mode to the menu bar so that I can quickly get rid of the title bar when I need to.

Cool idea. Don't know how I missed it all these years. I just added one to mine too. Thanks for the tip.

I wonder if there's a command line you can add to the shortcut so it launches that way.

You do lose the status bar when you switch to Full Screen Mode but you can also add a button for viewing it if you need it.

Good tip about the button for full screen mode.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.
