In all versions you can click to make the size active then roll your mouse wheel to change size.
You can also hold down the alt key and drag up to make the brush / blemish fixer smaller and down to make it larger.
This is also Broken in PSP X7 as it does not refresh quickly enough to show what size you have reached. You check the difference in X7 by changing the size of the Brush tool and comparing it with changing the size of the Blemish Fixer.

Thanks Paul, I had a feeling that was a bit of a newbie question :D

I've had a chance to go through more of the work processes I need (still got a few layering requirements to check) and I must say I'm very happy so far it's pretty easy stuff converting from PS.

There is a deal breaker for me though;

Must be able to embed ICC color profile for OFFSITE independent color lab for printing.

Having looked at quite a few forums and googled the interweb this seems to be a right mess in PSPX# (Pease please feel free to discredit me on this!!)
I can set an ICC profile for an image to be printed to an attached local printer, that's fine, but not save an image with an embedded profile for external processing?

Is there a definitive answer to this issue please?
If not I'll just have to sadly move on even though my experiences so far make me really want to like this software!

I just downloaded PSX7 onto my Lenovo Twist running Windows 8.1. Loaded (32 and 64 bit version) fine, started fine (very fast compared to X5 and X6).

First issue:
The first thing I did was to import from my 7D. X7 recognized the 7D, displayed thumbnails, allowed me to select them, start the import, and then failed with 'document is unsupported' error after it looked like the import was complete. I tried selecting 1, same error. I tried both the 64 and 32 bit versions.

Second issue:
In the preferences I can't find where the import will save the files. I want to customize the download place and file naming on import. I can't see any way to do either.

Can't use it till I can import pics.

I can find know way to contact support or customer service on a trial and I thought I could a version or two ago on a trial. Finally the knowledge base brings up totally irrelevant items when searching for import and none if I add CR2 or Raw to the search or limit it to error codes and put the exact error phrase in the search box.

CAn any one help or give me some direction?

Thank,

Sam

Import loads images into the PSP workspace, so if you had 100 images you would be trying to load 100 images into PSP to edit . It usually complains when you reach 10. What you are wanting is something someone asked for in another thread under Corel Photo Downloader.

I mentioned there that a simple task like transferring images from your camera / card to a Windows folder is not a function of PSP, and that I and others simply use a card reader to drag and drop the images into a folder in windows. (I then rename them and make a copy before doing any other processing).

Your first issue PSP not recognising 7D files (I presume you mean the raw files - CR2 as it does not have a problem with jpgs). THis is a problem with all software when newer cameras come out - the processing for the raw files changes while that for jpgs remains the same. It then becomes a question of how often should the company put out service packs or updates or whatever for their programs to match the latest raw files.
Even PS had a problem back around CS2- CS4 with being able to read CR2 files from the Canon 5D but not from the 5D Mk II. Users had to upgrade to CS5 to be able to work with those from memory.

Considering that Aftershop Pro (AP) is Corel's version of a raw file processing and managing program like Lightroom, have you tried AP.
You can probably run a trial version and check it out. It would be superfluous for Corel to maintain AP for editing / managing raw files and then include all that processing power in PSP. Likewise Lightroom will have features that PS does not and again Adobe would not want to put all the processing power of Lightwoom into PS.

Nice Adobe-oriented typo there, hartpaul!  The Corel program is of course Aftershot Pro, and is more commonly referred to as ASP...

You are correct, I was discussing raw (CR2). When I penned the post, I had already download Aftershot Pro 2 (ASP2? AP2?). I connected the camera and the Import Selected Files was disabled. I could copy the files using several other methods and then import a folder. The import from a folder does not show the 7D on the list under This PC.

I tried PSP to import as I just need a few files from my camera.

I am pretty sure the import it worked in PSPx6 or x5. I use Adobe Light Room normally, but I need to upgrade it and I am looking at alternatives. I liked the speed and functionality of x7 and wanted to upgrade from X6 and I thought about using AP2 to replace Light Room.

So I actually have issues with both products and can't find any support for a trial product but here.
