Does project settings under settings affect the output quality of the video file?

Only if you choose Share > Same As Project Properties after you have finished editing. Otherwise, the end quality is governed by the properties you choose in the format you are outputting to.

Hi

Just to add that I would advise that you set your project properties to match the video files properties.

There is an option from Preferences (F6) to Show Messages when inserting First clip….(Active when adding the first clip to a NEW project)

This prompts you to match the properties, unless the properties are already set as such or the video properties are non-standard and cannot be used for the project.

Even so I would say two settings to be correct are the frame rate (25/29.97fps –50/60fps) and the aspect ratio 16:9 or 4:3.

Thank you all for your help. I fixed the setting to the correct one but I just wanted to make sure the older ones I encoded are ok. x5 Never had that setting that I saw I am still learning x7. It runs a lot faster on 64bit.

Hi guys,
Just a quick question to add to IATA's response if I may: How do I know which screen ratio my raw footage is in? I can see 1080 60 fps but the 16:9 part...?

Any help appreciated!

Thank you.

If you can see the number 1080 then your video in 16:9

4:3 videos do not use numbers like that
