If I buy the "upgrade" version, does that mean if I ever need to do a complete reinstall (for example, after reinstalling my OS, which I did just recently) will I have to install X6 first? Or is it still the "full" version, just at a lower price because I do have X6?

TIA.
The low price is pre-sale.
You can have a many versions on your PC as needed.
If had to completely reinstall X7 (which is an upgrade from X6 for you) you may be requested for the last full version registration number, in your case X6. You will need to keep registrations for both versions in a safe place.

I've had that happen before too. Not a problem. Thanks.

Well I have tried every one of the sites that people have said you can download Paintshop Pro X7 from and so far no luck. No matter where I go to try and get the free download the best I come up with is X6. I give up. I will just wait until I see it on the Corel Website.

My AP plugins + Mura's meisters, andrews plugin 1.5.3, Innovations 1.5 don't work anymore, they all give an error .
Me too! And I rely on these plugins! Any word as to why they don't work. Worked just fine in X6.

I don't have the others but I just tried MuRa's Meister and MuRa Pro and both work fine for me in X7 but then I'm using Windows XP.

Yep same with NIK. Works okay with the 32Bit but the 64Bit versions don't in win8.1 and X7 64Bit. Dealing with Corel support is a nightmare as they just don't seem to want to look at the problem and are saying that Google are to blame even though I'm not using the Google NIK suite and the version I have works fine in X6 32 and 64bit and X7 32bit. Not sure who they are supporting, it's certainly not the customers when they go straight into denial mode.

(Older) plugin error in psp X7

In Windows 7 it's no problem..you have to turn off your DEP. In windows 8 you can try.....
but many people aren't allowed in windows 8 / 8.1 to turn off their DEP. They should go even further and make changes in their BIOS..

You can read how to turn off your DEP on our site.

Shame on you for telling people to disable Data Execution Protection just for the sake of running old, poorly written plugins!

DEP is there for a very good reason, and in these times when malware is so prevalent, it's morally indefensible to tell anyone to disable a layer of security on their computers.

Hi,

Don't tell us :) , tell Corel ...as they all worked fine in psp X6.
I don't think Andrews ,Van der Lee, Namesuppressed or Mura's Meister have written poorly plugins.
Corel has written some poor old codes in there program, that gives the error "memory access violation"

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... s.10).aspx

Application developers should be aware of DEP behavior in user mode. A user-mode DEP exception results in a STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) on Windows systems. The first parameter of ExceptionInformation that is located inside the EXCEPTION_RECORD structure contains the type of access violation that occurred. A value of 8 for ExceptionInformation[0] indicates the access violation was an execution violation.

In most processes, the STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception will be an unhandled exception and result in termination of the process.

Tsk tsk Ken, that is NOT for you to say :-(
I turn oFf DEP for PSP and another program I use a lot, it is the only way to get the plugins (I use very few) to work..

I can't believe that you said that..

That's a good point. If the access violation only occurs now, and it's because of a change in the PSP X7 code, then the fault could very possibly be with Corel. It's still difficult to say without a thorough analysis of the plug-in's code, however.
