Black Lines Appear on Imagery in Edit Window

Post by bjk »

Help!

I am encountering an annoying problem with PaintShop Pro X6. When working with a number of images in the Edit window, I often move one or more of the images out of the way so that part of the moved image will be moved behind the boundary of the open edit window. For example, the image may be moved so that part of the image is placed behind the docked navigation pane or may partially be moved behind the right window edge. Later when I bring the full image into the edit window, black lines will appear in the image where the image intersected with the edit window. If I then move the image so that the black lines are moved behind the edit window boundary, the lines are erased. This happens often and is very annoying. The lines are not permanent, but I would like to get rid of this problem.

To try and correct this problem, so far I have done the following. First, I restored the program to its factory default and rebuilt the cache. This did not correct the problem. Then I reinstalled the Direct X Runtime and installed Microsfot Hotfix. This also did not correct the problem. To be honest, I am about to give up and PSP X6 and return to X5. Has anyone encountered this problem? I have never encountered this problem with any other version of PaintShop Pro.

I don't see any black lines using the 32 bit version of X6 on XP and version 16.0.0.113 (no servicepacks).
What version are you using and is it the 32 bit , 64 bit or both.
You mention that when you bring the image back it has a line which gets erased when you move it back behind the window edge. Does zooming with the mouse a little correct the problem?

To hartpaul:

Thank you for your comment. The version of PSP X6 that I use is 16.2.0.20. Before your comment, I never tried to zoom an image with a black line in it with the mouse. I did so, and indeed the line disappeared. I guess that I will learn to live with the problem until a solution can eliminate the effect. The problem isn't fatal -- but it is annoying.

@bjk

These black lines are no bug in any program that has got these lines, but it's a graphic card issue. If the graphic card and its driver is too old or too weak, then it can't cope with the newer way how it works.
