Big MP4-Data Rendering not Possible

Post by kaj0s »

Hello!

Because the German Support site is not working, I hope i can have some support here.
I have a registred Version of "VideoStudio Pro X7 JP Manual". My MSI GE70 Notebook has been updated yesterday (Windows, Intel Graphics, NVIDEA Drivers, etc.).

I just bought a new Camcorder (Panasonic HC-V757) and recorded some very high quality Videos. Format is: Full HD 1080p, 50 mbit/s Datarate, Recorded Format: Mp4.
Well, when I take 2 - 3 videos into a new Projekt in VideoStudio X7 (without any filters, effects, etc. ==> raw in a row), I can render that successfull (MP4 1080p) and very fast. Great!
But if I take all of my 31 Videos (total lenght is about 5 Minutes) and also without modifications, it will crash rendering at exactly 17%. The process isn't responding, CPU goes imidiatly lower...

I tested some different issues then:
Render the project on a different computer (AMD Hardware): Stops at 17% rendering.
Tried to render in AVI Output / WAV Output / 720p MP4: Stops at 17% rendering.
Removed the videosequenz that is rendering at 17%: Stops also at 17% rendering.
Tried to render without Smart Rendering: Stops at 17%
Just made a new project with just the small video that was crashing at the 17%: Rendering successfull.

So it cant be the fault of the Video-Type, the Hardware, the Project, the Outputformat.
It seems that whatever I record and whatever I do, if there are more than 5 files in the project, it will always crashes by 17% renderingprogress. What the hell?
All Projects in the past (like big FRAPS-Video Files) were no Problem.

I want to record in 1080p MP4 with my cam and I need to cut that, and i guess this program should be able to do that (it also promises 4K).

Please Help.
Thank you!

Hi Kaj

and welcome to the forums.

I don’t know whats happening here, but if it fails at the same point on another computer then it is probably the video files.
There have been some issues with Mpeg4 type video a recent post here
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53792

Corel provided a fix for this problem, I don’t know whether your video is the same as you don’t give any details, other than it being Mpg4.
Can you right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they. You can create an image of that window to attach to your post.

OK

Go to Settings--Preferences (F6)
Tick the Option “ Show Messages When Inserting First Video Clip….”
Start a new project
Insert your video files to the timeline.
You should see a panel asking that you match the project properties.
Choose Details to view the Video Properties
If you wish Copy and Paste the Video Properties details to your post.
Choose Ok

Now Share
At the top of that window is the option “Same as Project Settings”, Tick the box to make the options available…..change that to Same as first Clip

Are you able to do the above……
Does it render ok or fail……

Thanks for your reply, Trevor!

I will try what you suggested. But look: it can't be a corrupt video file. Every single file of the 32 files has the same issue: That VideoStudio X7 can render them all, as long as there are just a bunch of them in a project. If I randomly paste all 32 files in a project (no matter what effectes I use) it will exactly freeze at 17% of progress.

Well, is it possible that VSX7 is not able to render Video Types of the format MPEG4-1080/50p (not AVCH)? In the Outputprofiles is just 1080/25p the highest format. Well I could propably live with that, would it just reduce the details to 25p, but it just doesn't render any format.

Thats the point...

Just checked all of the details.
I opened a new Project and first configured what you has suggested.
Then went to the Projectproperties and setted up a profile:

Code: Select all

MPEG Transport-Streamdateien
24 Bit, 1920 x 1080, 50 fps
Bild-basiert
(HDMV-PAL), 16:9
H.264-Video
Videodatenrate: Variabel (Max. 50000 kbps)
Audiodatenrate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital-Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
Now I inserted my clips. They have the following format:

Code: Select all

MPEG-4
H.264 High-Profile-Video
24 Bit, 1920 x 1080, 16:9
Picturerate: 50.000 Pictures / Sec.
Datarate: 49152 kbps
Audiotype: MPEG AAC-Audio
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
Bitrate: 128 kbps
Then I insert the Videos. There comes the message. And it tells me he will fit the clips for supporting SmartRendering.
I say "Yes". Alright now I go to the Output and click "Same format as the first videoclip"; SmartRender ON. And Start.
He boosts up the rendering may a way to fast, I assume. Now slower at 63% passing 73%, stucking at 100% for a while... and Done!

Okay, the Vid is perfect, I wonder if this will also work when I insert some effects and stuff and maybe make a 2 Hours Project.
But the sound is crap now. Every 2 Secounds it mutes for a sec. Thats still not Okay. I will see if I can do something about that.

Thank you for the help!

It could be the files and the codec, as often editing apps will pull in a codec to use and this will work with a small amount of files, but when a project gets larger it baulks at the work and fails.
This can also be a problem if things like the meta data aren't perfect.

So, first make sure you have the right codec.

It may be that if the camera model is brand new, then it uses a new codec which VS can't use and then it won't edit your files in quantity.

The way round this would be to convert them to a file that VS can use.

Well I am done with it.
At the Moment I inserted just a small Intro (Some text, music and pictures) it doesn't work again.
I was taking an eye on the settings from my last post, but it simply doesn't work.
I think the program is Okay for some simple projects with low quality material but it definetly is not able to render 1920*1080/50p and AAC Audio.

I will use MAGIX Video Pro X6 for this.

Thanks for the try
