For the life of me I cannot figure out what I am doing incorrectly. I have just made 10 Blu-ray coasters. The last one was created after 5hrs and 26 min of rendering and the program stopped working (according to Windows). The files I used to create my project were from a new HiDef camera. I imported the AVCHD files (.mts format) and edited them in a high def format (1920*1080). After editing, I did 2 things. I saved my project and then created a file as an M2T file. I exited the program then reopened it and went to create a disc.I added no menu ,just wanted to burn the project. I first added the video then went to burn. I got no more than 30% through it, and crashes. I next tried only adding just the VS project files. That took 5 hours and got to 99% before crashing. I have made a few Blu-ray discs but I cannot seem to get the right steps.I am using the current version with the latest service pak (in VideoStudio). I have plenty of hard drive space (750GB free) plenty of RAM (8GB). I shut off internet service and all non essential programs when burning. Can someone provide me with a step by step process to get this right? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Best regards-

It sounds as though you are doing the right thing... though it depends on what exact properties your .m2t file has. So can you please right click on it and copy ALL its Properties here, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an attachment. One possibility is that you are using 50 or 60 P (fully progressive) video, which VS would be trying to convert to i or interlaced video (50 or 60i) since the only frame size which can be used with 50/60P is 1280 x 720p which is Blu-Ray compatible. Despite many camcorders these days producing 50/60P footage at 1920 x 1080, the international Blu-Ray standard has not yet been updated.
It would also be useful to know something about your computer since your original footage is AVCHD and that is very demanding of computer resources.
Finally, in order to avoid making costly Blu-Ray coasters, I suggest you click off 'Burn to disc' on the final page of the burning module, and instead choose to create a Blu-Ray folder. This is the exact equivalent of a Blu-Ray disc, but in software form. If successful, you can then burn the folder to an actual disc using a program like the Nero or Roxio suites, if you have them, or the freeware ImgBurn...

Re: Is there a tutorial for creating a Blu-Ray disc?
This is what I came up with from the properties. It appears normal to me. I have tried to create the project without burning it by creating a Blu-Ray folder as well. I am able to drop the files but am unable to get them to burn to a disc. I am truly perplexed. What is even stranger is , if I go to create a regular DVD from the project, I can do that in under 7 minutes and it comes out just fine.

Sorry -- I should have been more specific and said to right click on the file in the Video Studio timeline. That will give more accurate information than that Windows box you have attached.
