VideoStudio Pro X7 destroys Windows after rendering

Post by djboshh »

I've been happily making a home movie for last few months and my VideoStudio Pro X7 has behaved impeccably. However i have tried to render my movie 3 times now, and each time after the rendering has finished Windows becomes very very slow. Then i try and turn it off and it takes ages. Then when i try and restart Windows it just crashes and doesnt even reach the desktop. Luckily i have Windows Backed up and my movie project too. I've tried rendering my movie 3 times and the same thing happens.

So i think there is a serious bug in VideoStudio Pro X7 im afraid to say!

Since you have done it successfully before and VideoStudio behaved impeccably then something on your computer has changed or you have a rogue video - have you installed any new programmes or windows updates since your last successful render - Is the video is it EXACTLY the same as previous renders you have done.

Hi, i perhaps should of been clearer:

I have never successfully rendered a movie with VideoStudio Pro X7 yet. I've been making a home movie with it for months and only came to render it for the first time yesterday. I've tried 3 times and each time once it finishes rendering the computer becomes virtually unresponsive and unbootbale to the desktop. The important point is that before rendering, the PC is fine (just like it always is) and after rendering it has major problems.

I've restored Windows from a working backup 3 times, a working backup from months ago from which the PC has worked flawlessly between that time until now.

I'm afraid I have no idea why this is happening.
It is certainly the sort of thing that you should maybe be dealing direct with Corel with, we are just volunteer users, not employees.

A few questions, which will help moving forward
By rendering do you mean rendering, as in preparing the movie for saving, or actually saving to a movie file?
Do you get a useable movie file at the end of the process?
What format are you saving the movie file to?
What are all of the file types you have ion your project?
How long is the project?
What transitions/effects have you used, if any?
What happens if you add a short video sample and try to render/save movie file?
Can you describe the whole process that you take to render/save movie file?
