Volume Default

Post by sogent123 »

Is it possible to set a volume default for images in a slideshow so that after using the microphone to describe an image I do not have to adjust the volume for each individaul image? I am able to set a default duration for the images but I am unable to do the same with the volume.
Thanks for any help or info.

One way I can think of is to complete your project, minus the volume adjustment of each slide. Then render that file (Share, Create Video File). What you have then is one long avi file. Then you can go in and adjust the volume for the entire project. Never tried it myself, but seems logical

Tried it but it did not work. I have separate volume for music and voice. It seems I will have to adjust volume for the voice for each individual image.

What about rendering with the music, then add the voice to the rendered piece, or vice versa :?:

One other thing I would check into is whether or not your sound card supports adding a +20dB boost to the microphone input.

This boost is to support unamplified input sources such as those from simple condenser microphones. All Creative Labs sound cards and many other products have this feature -- simply open up the mixer applet for your audio device, and see if there is an "Advanced" or similar button underneath the volume control for the MIC input.
