Difference? Corel RAW Lab v Corel AfterShot Pro

Post by Grazie »

Simple . . . . Would I gain anything using Corel AfterShot Pro over and above Corel PSP RAW LAB that comes with X6, for RAW Editing, that I could not then do within PSP X6?

I've been reading Corel's User Manual here:- http://product.corel.com/help/AfterShot ... ction.html

Cheers

Yes
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

Very good . . . OK, you use CAS Pro (?), what would you flag-up as being the benefit/s over and above Corel RAW Lab?

Best regards

Please raise a support ticket for lack of camera support.

Please also post in the ASP forum.

Corel having been releasing frequent updates for new cameras and they would like to know what they need to support.

ASP is in a totally different league for RAW processing compared to PSP. You might even find that you don't use PSP much after you have ASP.

Good point. I forgot that Corel have made it pretty much impossible to raise tickets anymore.

You could try posting on their Facebook page. I'm not a FB user/fan but I've heard from others here that Corel tends to respond to requests posted there.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Yes, I did see the FB Corel section. It appears that this is the Way of the World nowadays. IMO, opening a enquiry, on a third-party portal site for a Corel-Centric support request, such as mine, appears desperate at best and amateur at worst. How can I be confident that a technical request will be treated in a "COREL-way" on a what is a social web portal? I have nothing against FB, I use it and I think it is great for many family and friends interactions. Also for more technical sources of How-Tos and so on. But asking, openly, for support for a product? Bizarre.....

And thank you!

I'm a big fan of RawTherapee. It's free and offers a million adjustments. It uses the free "dcraw" library to open RAW images, and that library is frequently updated, so there's a good chance your camera is supported.
