Creating Chapters in Video Studio Pro x7

Post by RLGDumfries »

The manual / help was not clear on this point so.....

When playing a DVD based video with chapters created in VS x7, Do you have the option of either playing the video continuously or selecting the specific chapter you want.......Or......do you always have to play the video chapter by chapter.

PS. I currently am using the trial version but have decided to buy. What is the difference between the Pro and the Ultimate version of Video Studio?

Thanks

There is no difference at all between the actual Video Studio, whether it is Pro or Ultimate. The Ultimate version, however, has a number of plug-ins and extra features which are quite useful and in my opinion well worth the extra money.

As for Chapters, you can choose which chapter to play. But after it finishes that chapter you have to set up the menu so that it either returns automatically to the main menu so you can make another choice; or else it will continue to play the next chapter and the next after that.

To do this, when building your menu, click on the second icon in the bottom left of the burning module screen -- the one with a cogwheel on it (Project Settings). Then untick the very bottom box -- see the red arrow in my attached image. The Clip playback box immediately below becomes active and you can toggle between Return to Menu and Continue to play next clip.

Thanks. Now I have look closer at the Ultimate to see what the plugins and extras give. Since I am a novice so I have decide if I would even understand them, let alone use them.
