I'm considering upgrading my VS X5 Ultimate to the X7. Will the filters that came with the x5 version work or will they even be imported into the new version? About the only filter I've used is the Mercalli , version 2.0. If I can still use the other filters then I won't pay for the Ultimate version this time. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hi
Can you update your profile to include your pc specifications, then we will know if you are using windows 64 bit or 32.
Video Studio X7 can be 64 or 32, you are best installing 32 bit as that will be the same as X5.
I don’t know if it is possible to transfer all filters to X7 so you will be best in running the trial version. I assume that to be 32 bit.
Then you can try to move the filters, if that is possible with the trial then it should work with the purchased version.
You can or course install X7 without uninstalling X5

Re: x5 pro to x7, will old Ultimate pkg. filters still work?
I've updated my profile info. I've also upgraded X5 to X7 64 bit. It was mentioned that I can,or should be able to import the Ultimate Filters that came with my X5 ultimate pkg. Can anyone tell me if that is correct and if so how? I'm not sure where those files would be located on my PC and where I would move them. I created a separate post with a question about not being able to import my Library from X5 to X7. Any help will be appreciated!

Re: x5 pro to x7, will old Ultimate pkg. filters still work?
Hi westlight
First I did mention in installing X7 32 bit as that will be more compatible with X5 as that is also 32 bit.
My own option is to purchase the full ultimate version, yes it’s a little more expensive but you will get the correct files.
I don’t know if anyone has tried this nor that it will work.
But again you may have problems using 32 bit filters with X7 64 bit.
Most of the filters if not all are saved to a folder here:-
for X5 .. C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\vft_plug
and
for X7 32 bit .. C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7
for X7 64 bit .. C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X7\vft_plug
proDADMercalli20Corel4.vft
proDADRoute40Corel4.vft
proDADScript40Corel4.vft
proDADVitascene20Corel4.vft
for X5 Graffiti5.vft
for X7 64 bit the file is called Graffiti6.vft, clearly a different file to X5
Take care when copying these files over.
Once you have copied the files across to X7 you will have to reset the workstation by re-naming the folder 17.0 to “17.0copy”
This should re-populate the library, hopefully including the FX filters.
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\17.0
Please note this folder is hidden by the operating system, you will have to select Show Hidden Files and Folders from the folders Tools – Options, unless you have already done that.
If things go wrong you will probably have to re-install the program.
Take care

Thanks...Guess I'll just have to call Corel to see if I can purchase the Ultimate Package separately since I've already paid for the non-Ultimate version.
