Customizing Toolbars
Has anyone had difficulty customizing the toolbars when in Edit mode in Paintshop Pro X6 and having them stick? I don't know the exact order of actions that I take, but when I add or remove buttons from the toolbars using the Customize function, the changes don't remain. I'll close Paintshop, reopen it, and some of the toolbar changes I've made are no longer there. It's not exactly resetting the toolbars, but, some of the buttons I've added are no longer there, and some that I've removed are put back.

Re: Customizing Toolbars
I've experienced this in X4, and saving the workspace under a custom name after customizing toolbars, and then loading that workspace, usually helps.
Again, it's X4 but worth a try if nobody has an X6 solution.

Re: Customizing Toolbars
As Forriner said and the same holds true in X6; you need to save the workspace. Go to File -> Workspace -> Save.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Re: Customizing Toolbars
Thank you all for your replies. I know this is not the forum to state this, but I think this is a bug in the software. I'm able to mostly get around it by creating new toolbars and putting the buttons I want into those toolbars. Again, thanks.

Re: Customizing Toolbars
Not sure in X4 but in X6 I would ask if you (in preferences/general) have checked something like "open in last view." I've done that in X6 (and since I have had PSP since JASC days, probably X4) and there is no problem keeping my custom view. However, I also save my workspace.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

Re: Customizing Toolbars
Test it out.
Do something drastic but simple.
Create a new toolbar and place a commonly used button on it - eg Levels.
Check that that button works on an image.
Close PSP and then Reopen and see if the new toolbar is still there.
Close computer restart and again open PSP and see if the new toolbar is there.
Repeat but save the workspace before you close PSP and restart.
I will test thes procedures when I have some time.

Re: Customizing Toolbars
What I have found works best in this instance is to create new toolbars and populate those toolbars with buttons that I want. I did that about a week ago and so far the customized toolbars and their buttons have stayed in place. Changes to toolbars should work at the program level, not the workspace level. I have never had another Windows program lose toolbars and buttons in 20 years of working with Windows programs. Thank you all for your replies.
