ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
Has anyone else had the problem of ASP 2 either taking a long time to delete a file or stops responding? The status bar goes to 33% then stops.

Re: ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
Is anybody else finding that deleting files is very slow?
Re: ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
It happened to me a couple of days ago (Windows XP sp3).
After wondering why for many hours, I got the idea to look into the pictures' folder and discovered that some of my NEFs had 2 different XMPs. One with the nef extension in lowercase, the other uppercase. Which also prevented to select all & delete, since Winwin handles both as unique, unlike Linux (maybe se7en fixes this, not sure, but I still have to keep my XP installation running). :-/
I then remembered that I had read the files (on my external drive) on my Linux box to give DarkTable a try and compare to ASP (15000+ photos import). This may have happened then.
I finally could manage to delete all XMPs, but now I have to process again my 15000+ pictures.
Hope it can help.
Regards,
J.-L.

Re: ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
This has been a long-standing bug since Bibble 5. It's a complete mystery to me how it can be cocked up so badly.
It does finish eventually.
If you're going to reorganise your photo library, you really need to plan ahead. It can take days to do all the deleting.

Re: ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
I would delete outside of ASP2 and import the folder into ASP2. Hopefully, they fix this in the future, it seems to rescan the directory everything when you delete just 1 file.

Re: ASP 2 Hangs When Deleting Files
Found a work around by flagging it as "reject" and deleting it all at once in the end.
