Selecting area of graph?

Post by terrypin »

What is the simplest way to select the area under the red graph line, enclosed by the solid black axes please?:

For the moment, I'm assuming I can 'fill in' that tiny section at top left where strangely the red line is missing. So, zoomed in, that area would look like this:

FWIW, I did somehow manage to select the area above the line!

I just used the Magic Wand tool - Tolerance 20 Continguous turned on.

That should select all of the white pixels minus the grey dotted lines. Then I modified the selection to remove holes.

Selections -> Modify -> Remove Specks and Holes

Set it to remove Holes

50 x 10 pixels

And that selects everything except for the grey lines that intersect across the border. You can just use the rectangle selection tool to quickly select those and add them to the current selection.

Don't know if it's the fastest method but it's pretty speedy.

Excellent, thanks, that did the job very nicely!

BTW, I don't seem to have a Contiguous option in PSP 8. But it didn't seem to matter - the settings shown worked fine.
