Trouble burning to disc or youtube

Post by Kim »

I have corel videostudio 7x. I have windows 8.1 on a Lenovo computer . I have followed all of the instructions to first make a copy to the share, MPEG-4 and tried MPEG-2 . It burns to only 90% each time and then stops. When I tried to burn directly onto a DVD it only goes to about 75% and stops. Seems to freeze there or program times out . I have yet been able to copy and share . Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you

Welcome to the forums!

First off, if your intention is to make a DVD, then you need to create a DVD-compatible mpeg-2. No point in making an mpeg-4 as that is not a DVD format. And for what it's worth, you are probably doing the right thing in first trying to produce a new video file of your project before trying to burn it to DVD...

Clearly, there is something wrong either with the original video or the project at about 90%. However, you do not tell us anything about the video that is in the project or what editing you have done. So let's start there. If all the video in the project is from the same source, please right click one of the clips in the VS timeline and copy ALL its Properties here, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an attachment. And if there is more than one format in the project, do the same for the other format(s).

Next, you will need to look at the project at around the 90% mark to see if there is any special editing around that point; or play the video clips around that point in both Clip and Project modes to make sure they play OK.

Hi Ken. Thank you much for your prompt response. I have attached a copy of the general screen shot . My video is only pictures with a music background. There was no change around the 90% point and all of the video plays fine from the computer.

thank you for your help.

So the images are jpeg and the audio is mp4. Do you have an audio editing program? (A freeware and excellent program is Audacity...) I would suggest you convert the audio in such a program to standard .wav format, and use that instead of the mp4.
