AfterShotPro 2

Post by hakoncoral »

Lately, Coral keeps advertizing about version 2, and that it is much faster than the previous version. I've been using Bibble, and then ASP V1. I finally download V2 but the disappointment started right away when I started it. The windows in not properly displayed on my Linux Mint 13 - it is at a later version of LM but I have no intention to change my operating system.
Disappointing is also that Noise Ninja is no longer supported. I was hoping that version 2 supports some of my newer lenses (Sony E-mount). No such luck! Still the old 3 lenses.

It beats me why Coral advertizes version 2 when it is actually a downgrade.

I'm confused as to why you think it is a downgrade other than due to the loss of Noise Ninja.

I prefer to take pictures using available light, which means high ISO. I find noise ninja quite helpful to make those high ISO pictures presentable. I have no idea how I'd achive that with version 2. Also the lack of new camera and lens support. I own two Nex 5 cameras and four Nex lenses of which only the older ones are known to AfterShot Pro, and that was a take over from Bibble. The 1650 is nowhere to be found - at least I couldn't find it.

Another problem I have with V2 is that it is always in full screen mode, and I was not able to change that. I am using Linux Mint 13.

How about searching a bit before posting?
The reason for the removal of NN has been stated often enough..
And a bit of RTFM helps with the fullscreen issue.

Read The Fine Manual.
Hint: OS Fullscreen != App Fullscreen

I had that Full Screen issue too with the Mac version. I hit the full screen icon once and no matter what I was doing, I was never able to get out of that mode even though I hit the icon again, close and re-open the App or play with the minimize, maximize window buttons in OS X. I closed the app, manually deleted the preference file, restart the computer and it fixed the issue.
