URGENT: UI of Boris Graffiti 6.1 (64bit) shows "???" symbols

Hi Support team,

I have just bought the VSX7 Ultimate via the Corel online shop today!
I have found the UI of Boris Graffiti 6.1 (64bit) shows many "???" symbols in the menu bar and most og the text box after installation, the application is totally unusable while I cannot read the commands and operations. Please give any urgent help for the issue!

SW:
OS: Win7U SP1 64bit (English);
VS: X7Ultimate 64bit with SP1 installed and related plugins also fully installed
Regional setting inside Control Panel in Windows: Format: English(US); Language for non-unicode program: English(US)

Supplementary info:

I have remembered that the language of VSX7 in the 1st installation is in Japanese, The original regional settings and non-unicode program are also Japanese because of some Japanese applications must to do so. That mean the above mentioned installation in the upper post is the 2nd tried installation! Moreover, I have found that the proDAD plugins are also displayed in japanese even I have changed the regional settings back to English.

I have also found my registration info of VSX7 is marked as "VideoStudio Pro X7 JP Manual" inside my Corel Account.

Is this root cause of showing the Japanese inside the proDAD plugins and "???" symbols in Boris Graffiti ?

I think you should contact Corel Support regarding the installation being in Japanese.
Can you confirm that the main program (Video Studio) is installed to English.
I assume that is what you want.

Is your Computer and keyboard set to English????

Using Boris, although the installation created a separate program via “start menu”, Boris Graffiti should be used from Video Studio. How did you access Boris??

Open Video Studio
Add a clip to the timeline
Choose the FX filter library option.
Boris FX should be available from the library, drag the filter to the clip.
Double click the clip to open the “Options Panel”
Attributes tab and customise the filter.

My 1st installation of VSX7 was in Japanese!
The issue still remains even I have uninstalled and then re-installed them again in English settings!
I use the Boris Graffiti inside the VSX7, that is the method you have mentioned above, and I think Boris Graffiti can't be run in standalone mode because I haven't found the related EXE under it's installation folders.

May I know how to contact to the official support of Corel for this issue? I can only find this forum for support inside their support section in the official website!

Thanks for your suggestion for my issue, I can find the tutorials from the web to id the "?" marks.
I hope to reinstall the applications again in English (I have already checked the option to delete the personal settings during uninstallation), but the issue cannot be fixed after reinstallation with all in English settings inside "Regional settings" in Windows.

Hi all,

I have solved the problem by using the VSX7 cleanup tool as follows:

Steps I have done:
1. Unzip and execute the VSX7_Cleanup.exe, then press "Start cleanup" (the tool shows remove...[registry settings] & [modules] done, but don't have the close button);
2. Perform uninstallation of VSX7 (check the option box to remove the personal settings) and Boris Graffiti inside the Control Panel of Windows;
3. Check back the VSX7 cleanup tool has fully run the uninstalling process, and close;
4. Delete the folders: C:\Program Files\Corel, C:\Program Files\Boris FX, Inc, C:\ProgramData\Corel and C:\ProgramData\proDAD (This step may be not required, I just perform it to make sure everything is cleaned up) ;
5. Change the Format and Non-Unicode language to English (US) inside the Regional settings of Control Panel of Windows;
6. Restart the PC;
7. Install everything back in English, then your world go back to the peace!

The above method is not provided by the Corel FB support, I have just searched from Google. I have still not yet received any rhelp from the Corel FB support page!

Moreover, I have to strongly suggest the Corel to add back the language option inside the preference menu of VSX7 to let the users to choose their language of UI, NOT fixed by the Regional settings of Windows, i.e.: System Default, English, Chinese, Japanese and so on..., in the coming service pack of VSX7.

Some (or most) of the oversea users are using their mother language settings (Non-English) to show the folders and files with Non-unicode text, but still want the UI of VSX7 to show English. Please provide the convenient to the customers. Thanks!

Thanks for the update and happy you have managed to install the program to your liking.
As far as installation goes I was not aware that the option to select a language had been removed when installing X7.

We here on the forum are not Corel employed, just volunteers running the forum, and like you Corel products owners. Corel will not read your comments on this forum.

If you wish Corel to read your comments then you should contact them via the Support pages or Facebook

I don't remember there ever being an option to select a language when installing any version of VideoStudio - select a country (only to set the video system) or select a video system direct yes - but language no.

I always understood installation language was set according to the system language set in Windows Regional control (as wtrieu76hk has just done)

In fact on the Knowledge base there is even an article telling you to do just that for X4 even - see here
