Hi,
I have been a long time PSP user and recently upgrade to X6 64-bit.
I have just purchased a SONY SLT-A77 mk ii and found that when opening a RAW image in PSP I cannot get the image to not look very washed out.
When I used to used X3 with my old SONY A500 the RAW image used to look pretty good even on default settings.
Can anyone advise me or point me to a guide to will help me get sensible looking images using the RAW files from this camera.
I would rather let PSP do all the processing rather than using some 3rd party or SONY program if at all possible.
Cheers
Baz

Re: RAW image quality from SONY SLT-A77 mk ii
While the RAW files from Sony are labeled ARW, each camera model has a different RAW file structure, and hence needs it's own codec to display properly. The Sony SLT-A77 mk ii is new and PSP X6's last update, SP2, was prior to the release of the new Sony. Corel may or may not release another update for X6 supporting newly released cameras, or you may have to wait for X7. Each PSP update or new version usually lists the newly supported cameras. You could try to contact Corel and put in a request for support for this new camera.
Incidentally, Sony just updated it's Image Data Converter this week to support the A77 ii- it's a free download on Sony's website. You can then import the processed and saved tiff or jpeg into PSP.
Personally, I only use PSP Raw processing for something quick. I shoot a lot of RAW, so after trying several programs, I settled on DxO Optics Pro- I like the automatic lens corrections and I find it easy to use. You can set it up to open your processed image in PSP for finer tuning as a jpeg or tiff.
