Which software do you use on which hardware? Without this info it is impossible to give meaningful advice :?

You would be best served by following the procedure outlined in the top sticky post of this forum. Those who follow this procedure have far less issues. However, if you do have problems please check back here for some help.

It probably appears to be in Real format because the Real player stole the file association with practically all video file formats on your system. The important thing is the file name extension -- what is it?

And why do you need to get it into a format to burn with Nero - why not just burn it from within VideoStudio ??

My camera is a NISIS DV6, Software is Video Studio 7 S.E Basic

i got as far as creating a video, my pictures played with all the fx and links i created it took quite a while then that was it
i looked in the folder ive saved it to and it a Moive File but how can i burn it so it plays on all dvds, i used neroa nd burnt the movie file to a dvd
and it didnt work at all

sorry if im missing something obvious, i printed off the instructions on the top of this forum and followed all i could

You can't just burn a movie file to DVD and expect all DVD players to be able to play it. You need to author the DVD, in other words, convert the video file into a DVD compliant format.

What are your system spec's? OS? Other software loaded? Which hardware do you use?

ok im using Xp home, only really got the Photo Express 4 installed also

not much else on the pc, nero, thats about it it was just a web pc
just for surfing, the programme does seem to run very slow

there is plenty of ram in the pc, and the software i got with my dv6 seems to be workin ok

how do i convert the movie to work on all dvds and burn it ?
it seems the video studio wont let me click on create disc ??

thanks mark

Hi
First of all the ‘create disc’ should be available to you.
I can only assume that VS is not recognising that you have a dvd writer installed on your pc.
Nero has been known to conflict with VS, especially NERO INCD.

You should be able to use Nero to burn your file to dvd, but you have to make a video/movie dvd NOT a data disc.

Videostudio 7 SE Basic does not support DVD burning. Purchase the upgrade to the full UVS 9.0 from Ulead, you'll get credit for owning an earlier version.

You're going to have to take that up with the manufacturer of the camera -- they decide how much they wish to spend on bundling a version of UVS with their camera. Apparently they opted for a less expensive version without DVD support.

Ulead will give you credit for owning an OEM version of their product, so you can purchase the UVS 9 upgrade. They treat you the same as someone who owns a full retail version of UVS 8.

...and, in the mean time, if you have the Nero suite, for instance, you can take the finalised DVD-compliant mpeg-2s from VS7, and author and burn the final DVD, with menus and chapters added, in Nero ("Make Your Own DVD-Video"). The menus etc in Nero are at about the same level as the full version of VS7 would give you, but probably not as sophisticated as VS 8 and certainly VS9.
