Next release ?

Post by FalCT60 »

After 2.0.1.5 which was no much more than ASP 1.2 with some cosmetics and a few more bugs, 2.0.2.10 brought us a little hope.
But then, I think time has come for a new release - though summer isn't the best time for that -.
So, let's hope the fall will bring us a brand new 2.0.4.20 with... er... any idea ?

I doubt they intend to release ASP3 before long. :x
They first need to release a real V2, not something that makes people fell like if they were poked at.
Just for information : [Link removed]
Their answear to my post made me feel really angry. My own answear was rather kind however, not even so sarcastic as I would have wished. I was about to be very rude. But I didn't. 8)
To be honnest, I really don't think 2.0.4.20 when it comes - if it happens to come one day -, will add something new nor correct existing bugs.
I'm more and more curious about Darktable, which seems really promising, though I don't know it it has all the features ASP offered.
When - if - I find how to do all what I could with ASP, despites I have paid for the update, I'll sit down on my money and definately give up with ASP.

Er... does this means it allows access to my account ? Or that it leads to an authentication box with no personnal information ?

Since Corel have said that it is their right (and policy) to remove posts which they consider offensive, it is probable that J-Luc's exchange is one of those that has been pruned. So for the meantime, we just have to hope that Corel's programmer is having a good vacation, and will be working on AS when she comes back to the office.

I just want support for the Fuji cameras, XT1, XE2, XE1, XPro1 added and I will be happy but until that time I have to swap and switch between softwares!

I dont want more features I want RAW support as soon or soon after a major camera is released by Nikon, Canon, Fuji.
Still learning after all these years!

I agree with JK - there's no need to add new features into ASP.

HDR, for instance, was very in a couple of years ago. People who liked the effect should have bought dedicated software for that, rather than waiting Corel to introduce the feature into ASP. And the wait was over long ago too, as most new cameras already have this feature built-in.

I'd like to see ASP developed and sold as if it's an anti-virus software. Users may pay once for the basic program, data file for the year, and bug-fixes to be released from time to time before the EOS date; and purchase, if desire, update packs containing both new and refined camera profiles to be rolled out on a half-yearly basis.

No, not at all. My post was ironic and sarcastic - not as much as I'd like though, due to my low level knowledge of english language - and I did removed the link myself as I read Braincee's warning which made me think that one could access my account data. :?
In fact, I further understood that the links I pasted were copied as I was connected, so they lead to a secured content that needs authentication to be accessed - doesn't it ? -.
And so do the links I pasted to corel's fb page : they will never be able to read their contents, since they can't login to the pages they point to.
However, I could see a new update was released, and it wasn't 2.0.4.20 but 2.0.3.25.
Which puzzles me, because starting from 2.0.1.5, then 2.0.2.10, I'd thought next would be 2.0.4.20 (x2 each time). Now, I'm lost. :x
