I'm testing VideoStudio X7 to see whether or not to spend money on it.
So far, not so good.
I'm importing MOV videos and stitching them together, along with edits.
The workstation I have X7 installed on is not weak: Win7Pro 64bit, 8-core AMD processor, Radeon HD6670 video, 32Gb of RAM, 4 TB of storage.
I have questions:
1. Why is the audio dropping randomly? If, after having all the videos in the app, I make any changes in the way of segment length, or sequence the segments are in, or adding fade in/out, when I test run the playback, the audio disappears. Only after closing the app and restarting does the audio return. This also happens when I share the finished project and export (share) it in mpg4 format.
2. Is there any color, or brightness, or contrast adjustment available in X7.
3. Where can I add metadata to the finished file?

Re: Testing X7
Hi Richard
And welcome to the forums
We need a little more info regarding your video files, There are many flavours of MP4, not all are easy editable. Right click a clip and select properties what are they?
Create a snapshot image of that window and attach to your post. Where did you get the video files from???
Are your MP4’s HD
HD video editing may require the use of Smart Proxy, the process creates additional proxy files that does help with playback and may help with the audio quality.
Playback can be in Clip mode which plays individual selected clips or Project playback which plays all clips, make sure you are using Project playback, the word project adjacent to the play button is highlighted.
A little bit worrying when you loose audio after rendering ---Hmmmm
Mov requires Quicktime installed on the pc, make sure you have the latest version.
Colour and Brightness filters, Auto Exposures and Auto Levels can be found in the FX filter library, select FX adjacent to the preview screen
Sorry don’t know about MetaData, don’t think that can be added using VS
