After hours of studying, digging, and experimenting I have to ask. Is it possible to remove a selected item from a photo and use it in another program? I don't have a problem removing the background from the selected (person in this case), but when I upload it into my "Vectric" Aspire program to use for carving on a cnc, the selection is surrounded by a blank background. I have saved my raster with the checkered background in jpg and gif. When it appears in Aspire, everything looks good except this squared off area just around the image. I admit I am new to this Paint Shop program, but I can usually figure this stuff out. I would really appreciate someone's help.
Thank you
Rick

Perhaps save as a png to maintain transparency in the same way as Picture tubes.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

You were dead on. I wish I would have asked for help weeks ago. Saving as a png file worked. Thank you.
