Ah, yes I had that error too.
Seems that I didnt download the file correctly - only a small file was created.
I transferred the file to my own Drobox folder and found the files was larger. About 95Kb is right the first file was only 45Kb.
Hello tintin,
All working well both 64 and 32bit on Linux Mint 17, apart from zsoften which produces strange artefacts on both 32 and 64bit versions.
Reverted to the earlier version on 32bit and the problem is not seen.

Ok.
Cleaned the Cache.
Deleted existing .xmp
Turned of all other plugins
Apply zSoften and the artefacts appear.
Select any of the 'Average' algorithm and the issue is there.
Select any of the other algorithms and it works as expected.
OS: Linux Mint 17 64bit
Let me know if I can give you any further information.

Amazing...
I discovered Dropbox doesn't allow right click / save target as.
It took me awhile before understanding why the plugins failed to install, untill I realized their sizes were all 47 k and far above the ones displayed on the download page.
One more think I learnt today, that will bring me to bed more clever.
just for your information. I'm currently about to build all the zPlugins for the latest ASP versions.
i will send them very soon to Corel for testing and putting on the plugin page.
