Getting started but have issues

Hi...I am new to this forum. I am just trying AfterShot Pro 2 (64-Bit) and importing my first sets of images and I am already facing issues and need help from experts.

Here is what's happening :

1. I create a catalog and I then Importing photos from folder.
2. The photos are in a CF card inserted in a USB card reader. I select the CF card in the Finder
3. I import photos from a first CF card
4. I switch CF card in the reader in order to import photos on a second CF card.
5. Both cards have photos shot with the same camera so with the same directory names and structures.
6. When the photos on the second card are imported, I am starting to see a red question mark on the pics imported from the first CF card and those pictures do not display anymore, only the thumbnail with the question mark.

Another issue I am facing is when I select Import photos from folder, and then hit Begin Import, the import does not start. I sometimes need to repeat the steps a few time before seeing photos importing in the catalog.

Can you guys please help me to figure out what I am doing wrong ?

I think I finally just figured it out. Please correct me if I am wrong. Import photos from folder actually does not move pictures from a media card to a Big physical library (like Apple Aperture does) but just references the files in a catalog. You actually need to download the files first on your system by choosing "Download" instead. I see you can choose to import in the Catalog at the same time. Hmmm interesting...

If you have any hints for me, please feel free to let me know.

You are correct, you need to move the pictes over to a hard drive.
And as alwasys never open any files directly from a card.
