Hi All:
I've been looking for simple hatch patterns. I have a found a few as Photoshop .pat files. Is there any way to open these and save them as the jpg or png files that PSP uses for patterns? I tried GIMP, but no luck.
Thanks for your time.

If and when you find the patterns, perhaps by googling, open directly into PaintShop pro by dragging from the webpage to PSP, then save the pattern to your patterns folder.
You may need to use seamless tiling before saving.

Thanks for your response trueblue, but I think you have misunderstood my question. Completely.
I've no idea why you are talking about "dragging from the webpage to PSP".
I was referring to converting Photoshop .pat files into PSP patterns. Perhaps someone else could answer the question in a coherent fashion.

Re: Convert Photoshop .pat pattern file to PSP
I believe trueblue was referring to dragging the sample image of the pattern directly from the webpage into PSP. Then manipulating that image to become your pattern. Of course this only works if the sample image is useable.
How did you try GIMP? The GIMP does not handle those files natively, no. There is a special plugin required for the GIMP to import .pat patterns. With this plugin added you can open a pattern file with each individual pattern as a layer inside of gimp.
Then you just need to save out the individual layers as images.
Though it should be noted that Photoshop supports CMYK and LAB color spaces for its patterns so any patterns that use those models won't be supported by GIMP.
