Re: Transition only on images
Sorry but you are going to have to explain a little more about exactly what you are doing - VideoStudio allows you to put transitions where you want them - and only where you want them, it is possible to just put a transition across the join between two images without affecting any thing else in the timeline.
So can you explain in a bit more detail - how are you applying the transition and how are the photos and videos placed in the timeline - maybe a screen shot might help to show what you are doing.

Re: Transition only on images
And also let us know which version of VS you are using... We noticed in earlier versions that only some of the transitions would work between images or clips in the overlay tracks, while the rest would affect both the overlay tracks AND the main timeline. In X7, Corel finally listed those which worked correctly in the overlay tracks and don't affect the main timeline as well. So look for the "Overlay Transitions" in the Transitions dropdown menu if you have X7.
I suspect this may be what you are talking about, but we really need those details which Brian has asked for.

Re: Transition only on images
Hi
From File – preferences (F6) Edit tab –Transition effect.
You can set the transitions to be applied automatically, for each clip added a transition will be applied as set above.
Deselecting the “automatically add transition effect” will stop that.
To add your own transition drag the transition from the library to the timeline position, between two clips.
If you wish to remove a transition, click the transition on the timeline and press the Delete button, right clicking the transition will also give the option to delete, this simply removes it from the timeline.
Hope that helps

Re: Transition only on images
To stop- the transition also working on the video you MUST use one of the transitions from the "Overlay transitions" section - which you find by opening the drop down on the top left corner of the transition library.
if you use one of those it will not affect the video
see below
