My Windows 7 system Profile got compromised and I had to create a new Win 7 Profile. All of my video clips and VS Pro X5 projects have remained intact, but when I open a recent VS Project for editing, the accompanying Media Files are missing from the Library; the Project looks intact.
Is this development going to screw up any further editing of that Project, or neutralize any future burning of that Project to DVD?
My old Profile no longer exists, BTW....

Whether there are thumbnails in the library pane or not has no bearing at all on the status of your project - you can edit any project without using the libraries at all.
Are the libraries installed by VideoStudio still intact
What you do need to do is to open your project .vsp files and see if they populate the timeline - given what you say it is possible that you may receive a message saying your files do not exist - but that simply means VideoStudio can not find them - the error message will also offer you the option to "Relink" - using that will allow you to show VideoStudio where the files are.
You will then be able to continue editing without problems
You can if you wish put your own video clips back into a library panel - if that suits the way you work.

Re: Library Media Files Disappear After Profile Compromis
Hi
Files showing in the library are not associated with files used in the project.
So if the library has reset to its installed state then it would not affect your projects.
You should have no problems editing your projects.
If you have lost any files used in your project then the program would request a Re-Link to the lost file.
If you wish to view the clips within the library then you would have to add then yourself.

Thanks, lata and BrianCee for these clarifications...
All the clips show up in the Project Timeline without any Relink error message.
