Trying to achieve specific effects

Post by jbigfoot »

Greetings, folks. I'm Jeff Glasser, a photographer in Columbus, Ohio. There are a couple of certain looks the sales folks at Corel tell me I'd be able to do by buying X6. Would this be the place to post sample pictures of those looks?

Yes you can post samples of your work - providing it does not look as though you will make any financial gain or have free advertising for any business by doing so.

Please put them in the separate forum you will find for members samples here :- http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewforum.php?f=45

Actually, it's not my work. It's processed photos taken and edited by others that have a unique look, and I'm trying to recreate those looks (2 of them).

So - do I understand that you want to post a couple of photos and ask how to do it in PSP - or are you just wanting to show someone else's work.

If the former post them here - if that latter and you have the owners permission post them in the samples forum.

Just as a little addition, if you know the name of the effect you're looking to create that helps even more.

Brian, it was the former. I'll do two posts, since they're two different effects. Levi, I don't know the name of the effect(s), regrettably.

Here is the first.

Like any editing there will be more than one approach.
The two coloured 'photos' I would approach with some HDR and selective blurring. Use of layers would make life a lot easier.
The B&W could be built up with layers.
