Crop tool causes PSP v 8.10 to crash

I am using Paint Shop Pro V8.10 and my query concerns the use of the crop tool in the Tools toolbar. (I have made the recommended searches but cannot find reference or help for this problem)

I have been trying to crop out a section of a JPEG image but as soon as I select the area and drag the crop area rectangle over the image, the program crashes. This does not happen with every image, which is all the more puzzling. The image concerned is 9.56MB - does this make a difference?

I wish I could help you Peter but I don't have PSP8. I hope someone will come along and tell you.

I use PSPX6 and would suggest you look at the Preferences, General Programme Preferences, Transparency and Shading. Untick Enable crop shade area and Automatically display crop rectangle. Keep Enable floating crop tool bar (if PSP8 has these features). Try again.

Thanks Maureen. Sadly PSP v8 doesn't appear to have those features under the Transparency tab or anywhere else in the preferences that I can see, but thank you for your suggestion. Peter
