Hi,
I have the new version of VideoStudio Ultimate X7, and also have downloaded the current SP1. I'm trying to render a 30 minute video and it shows 'not responding' error on my task manager and it's stuck at 8%. I have not had any problems rendering shorter videos. I've reloaded the program 4 times now. Please help. Thank you!!
Rendering problem. Help please.

Re: Rendering problem. Help please.
Welcome to the forums!
In fact, 30 minutes is not a particularly long video, so that should not be a problem.
But apart from the reference to 8%, in fact you have given us little on which to base a sensible reply. First off, we need to know what format the video in the project has. Please right click on one of the clips in the VS timeline and select Properties. Then either copy ALL the Properties here manually or else take a screen shot of the Properties box and Upload it here as an attachment. (See attached image on how to start such an upload.) If you have more than one type of video in the project, repeat this with a clip of that other video.
Next, one of the reasons we ask, during the registration process for this forum, for all those pesky details about your computer, is that they are -- or often are -- important. Some video formats, such as AVCHD and now 4K, are very demanding, and require a fairly powerful computer to both edit and play them. So please tell us something about your computer architecture. The freeware BelArc Adviser mentioned in the registration process will give you probably more than you ever wanted to know in this regard.
Next, if the error occurs consistently around the same spot in the rendering (8%), then you need to examine the project at around about that point. Maybe a filter applied to a clip or a transition between clips is not working properly. Maybe there is something wrong with one of the clips around that point... I know this is a bit vague, but essentially only you can look at these aspects.
Next, you also have not told us what format you are trying to render to, or even if you are trying to render to another video clip or whether you are trying to burn a disc of some kind. In this regard, if you are trying to burn a disc straight from the project (Share > Create Disc), then it could be worth trying to first convert the project to another video (Share > Create Video File) before you try to burn that new file to a disc.

Re: Rendering problem. Help please.
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Here are some of the info requested:
Properties of the clip:
File format: MPEG-4 file
File size: 446 mb
Video:
Video type: H.264 High Profile Video
Total frames: 6,660 frames
Attributes: 24 bits, 1920x1080
Frame rate: 29,970 frames/sec
Date rate: 16581 kbps
Audio:
Audio type: MPEG AAC Audio
Total samples: 10,665,984 samples
Attributes: 48000 Hz, 16 bit, Stereo
Bit rate: 256 kbps
My Computer's Partial Spec:
Windows 8.1
Intel Core i5 3.10Ghz
RAM: 12GB
System type: 64-bit OS, x64 based processor
I'm trying to render the video project to MPEG-4 AVC (1920x1080, 30p, 15Mbps) format. I was stuck at 8%, but when you mentioned something about a clip around that 8% mark, I went back and replaced it (previously from a GoPro 2 video clip) with several image stills instead. I used the same filter which was the "Crossfade" effect, and when I tried rendering it again, I'm stuck at 9% this time. I seriously don't know what else to do.
Let me know if you need more info. Thank you again!
